Persian Cultural Center Inc. / Iranian Community School was founded in 1986. As a non-profit, non-political, educational entity we are dedicated to the language, culture, history, literature, music, and art of Iran for the young and adult residents of the greater Washington DC Metropolitan area.Through the untiring efforts of founder Mrs. Deyhimi, the Iranian Community School started its activity in spring of 1986. The first Persian language classes were given in her home with just two students.
The enrollment quickly grew to six, then sixteen after just six months of classes. She then moved the classes from her home to Pimmit Hill Center of Fairfax County, then to St. Luke Church in McLean and then to Emmaus United Church of Christ in Vienna and finally to our current location in 311 Maple Avenue in Vienna. The school has greatly expanded its activities to meet the needs of its students. Now, the Iranian Community School is in the enviable position of demand exceed available space and potential expansion in its current site.
Shahantadj Deyhimi – Founder and Director. Child Psychology major with 27 years experience in managing the school.
Asieh Bahrami – Assistant Of Persian Cultural Center,Inc/Teacher. Master Degree in Persian Literature with 11 years teaching experience.
Pooran Seirafi – Teacher (2nd grade). MS in French Literature from Tehran University with 15 years experience teaching Persian to children.
Shahla Shahbandeh – Teacher (1st grade). Master Degree Persian Literature and French with 20 years of experience.
Farnaz Poorshoravi – Teacher (1st grade). Master Degree in Ancient Culture and Language. Bachelor degree in Persian Literature.
Mansoureh Ali-Bakhshian – Teacher (3-5th grade). Bachelor degree in Persian Literature. Enrichment instructor at the Imagination Tree FASCA enrichment programs. For the past three years she has also been teaching in the after school programs in variety of subjects at Fairfax County Elementary Schools.
Mojgan Yaghmaei – Teacher (Pre-K – Kindergarten). BS in Clinical Medical Laboratory. Master degree in French Instruction. Five years experience teaching Persian to children and adults.
Mitra Jamali Kakroudi – Teacher (Pre-K – Kindergarten). BS in Economics. 15 years experience in teaching at Pre-k, Kindergarten, and Elementary school level in Iran.
Jaleh Ordobadi – Teacher (5th – 8th grade). BS in Nutrition from Mashhad University of Medical Science.
Shokofeh Javanparast – Art Teacher. Degree in Fine Arts from Tehran University with 5 years experience teaching to children and adults.
